Mary Helen Skuderna

Mrs. Mary Helen Skuderna, 88, of Rocky Ford passed away on Sunday, June 10th, 2012 while in the company of family members at Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Center - West, LaJunta, CO. Mary was born in Poplar, MT on January 23, 1924, the daughter of the late George W. and Dretta (White) Van Delinder. She graduated from Belgrade High School in Belgrade, MT and from Montana State College. She was the wife of William A. "Bill" Skuderna. They were married on Dec. 19, 1947 in Belgrade, MT, celebrating 65 years. Mary retired as a Registered Nurse at Otero County Health Department in La Junta, CO retiring in 1985 after 23 years of service. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford, CO, PEO Sisterhood Chapter EU and the Daybreakers Toastmasters. She is survived by her husband; Bill of the home; Daughter Ruth wife of Darrell Lewis of Arvada, CO; Daughter Susan wife of Jim Sullivan of La Junta, CO; Brother George Van Delinder of Bozeman, MT; Brother Dallas "Dal" Van Delinder of Billings, MT; Granddaughter Stephanie wife of Bryan Fritz of Arvada, CO; Grandson Tim husband of Amanda Sullivan of Minneapolis, MN; Grandson Jeff Smith of Arvada, CO; Granddaughter Kelli wife of Danny Marx of Grand Junction, CO; Grandson Greg Wakefield of Denver, CO; Grandson Eric Wakefield of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Mary Wakefield of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Beth Wakefield of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Megan Wakefield of Los Angeles, CA; Granddaughter Kimberly Wakefield of Denver, CO; She is also survived by 10 Great-Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a daughter: Marilyn Wakefield; a son: Donald Skuderna; sister: Betty Kallin; brother: Marion "Van" Van Delinder A Memorial Service will be at Community Presbyterian Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 14th, with Rev. Steve Culver officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice 118 W. 4th, La Junta, CO 81050 or to Your Local Favorite Charity.
