Mrs. Melva Jean Rains, 74, of Rocky Ford died Friday, December 12th, 2008 suddenly at the St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, Pueblo, El Paso County, CO. Melva Jean was born in Trinidad, CO on January 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Marie (McClendon) Jameson. She graduated from Branson High School in Branson, CO. She was the widow of Floyd Wesley Rains he preceded her in death on September 21, 2008. They were married on August 20, 1955 in Trinidad, Co She worked as a Dietician at Rocky Ford Nursing Center Rocky Ford, CO 81067., She is survived by: Daughter Koye wife of Tom Hendrix of Wray, Co.; Son Kim Rains of Timpas, Co.; Brother-in-law Bill husband of Faye Rains of Boone, Co.; Brother-in-law Joe husband of Sandy Rains of Greeley, Co.; Grandson Matt Fiance' Breeann Hendrix of Ft. Collins, Co.; Grandson Kyle Hendrix of Wray, Co.; Step-Grandaughter Arah Minck of LaJunta, Co.; Step-Grandaughter Ka Cee Mitchell of LaJunta, Co.; Step-Grandson John Mitchell of LaJunta, Co.; Step-GreatGrandaughters Lexi & Aalyha of LaJunta, CO; Sister-in-law Joyce Rains of Colorado Springs, Co.; Sister-in-law Joyce Jameson of Sultan, WA; Sister-in-law Vee Jameson of Springfield, CO. She is also survived by Several Nieces & Nephews Funeral Services will be at the at First Baptist Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 19th, with Pastor Chris Becker officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-6 PM in the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
