Mina Jane Payne
August 29, 1924 - June 19, 2010
Mrs. Mina Jane Payne, 85, of Cheyenne, WY, formerly of Rocky Ford, died Saturday, June 19th, 2010. Mina was born in Rocky Ford, CO on August 29, 1924, the daughter of the late Murrel Hartly and Mina Elizabeth (Weibright) Anderson. She was the widow of Victor Milton Payne. They were married on July 21, 1944 in Santa Ana, CA. He preceded her in death. She was employed as an Escrow Officer and had been a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford. Mina Jane Payne is the mother of Janis, David and Victor. She was our mentor, friend, trusted confident and we loved her dearly. She taught us how to love, play, travel and live. She met and married Victor Payne and had three children. When Dad went overseas to work, mom took charge of selling the house, packing, storing and making sure that our grand parents would be ok. She flew by herself to Spain to live with dad. She lived in Malta, England and Scotland before moving back to Mesa, AZ when Dad retired. They moved to Cheyenne, WY and loved living there until her death last Saturday. Victor Payne preceded mom in death in 2004. Mom was always with us thru the good times and the hard times making sure we would have support and love during those times. She loved working in real estate-buying and selling houses. She loved to travel and visit her grand kids, great grand kids and was always bragging about how many grand and great grand children she had. Mom also loved her sisters and brother very much. She enjoyed visiting all her nieces and nephews. She always talked about growing up in Rocky Ford and how much she loved her first house. When mom was passing away, I said to her that I have always and will always love her, I also said that Victor, David P., David Kotlark (my husband), Marion, Georgina and Nedra had always and will always love her. My brothers and I will miss my mother more than I can express She is survived by; Son Victor husband of Darlene Payne of Salt Lake City, UT; Son David Payne of Cheyenne, WY; Daughter Janis wife of David Kotlark of Cheyenne, WY; Sister Marion Porter of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Nedra Barnes of Las Alamos, NM; Sister Georgina Gardner of Arcadia, CA.
