Mrs. Nina Estaline Burkhart, 93, of Rocky Ford passed away on Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 peacefully at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center-Nursing Center East, La Junta, CO. Nina was born in Harper, KS on August 12, 1919, the daughter of the late Earl and Blanche Wilcox. She was the widow of Albert Burkhart. They were married in 1949 in Albuquerque, NM. He preceded her in death. Nina was a Home Maker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Rocky Ford. She was a member of numerous organization in the community and volunteered. She is survived by: Son Richard L. Black (Margie) of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Larry Black of La Junta, CO; Son Gerald Black of Yuma, Arizona; Son Charlie Hawkins of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Mareda Stacy of Arizona; Brother Glen husband of Shirley Wilcox of Shawnee, KS; Brother Bill husband of Helen Wilcox of Shawnee, KS; Sister Bonnie Schroeder of Rocky Ford, CO. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents, husband: Albert, grandchildren: David Black, Bryon BLack & Gary Hawkins; brothers: Frank & Carl Wilcox; sisters: Edna & Vida. Funeral Services will be at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 15th, with Pastor Chris Becker officiating. A visitation will be on Monday at 9 AM until service time at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, CO.
