Mr. Noberto H. "Curly" Gabaldon, 83, of Rocky Ford died on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 while in the company of family members at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Noberto was born in Rocky Ford, CO on November 2, 1925, the son of the late Noberto and Severina (Hernandez) Gabaldon. He was the husband of Antonia (Mediano) Gabaldon. They were married on August 18, 1954 in Raton, NM. He worked as a Groundskeeper at OJC LaJunta, CO. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church Rocky Ford, CO 81067. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, woodworking, gardening and going to Cripple Creek. He was known for being a storyteller and always joking but most known for being ornery. He is survived by: Wife Antonia Gabaldon of Rocky Ford; Daughter Grace Terrones of Colorado Springs, CO; Daughter Nancy Gabaldon of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Carol Gomez of Denver, CO; Son Noberto, Jr. husband of Debra Gabaldon, of Wheatridge, CO; Son Ronald husband of Mary Gabaldon of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Placida Montanez of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Annie Romero of Ft. Collins, CO; Granddaughter Adriana Terrones wife of Adam Rosenstiel of Wichita, KS; Grandson Arturo Terrones husband of Angelica Faunc of Colorado Springs, CO; Grandson Kenneth husband of Angel Gabaldon of Colorado Springs, CO; Grandson Ryan Gomez of Denver, CO; Great-Grandchildren 9 He is also survived by Numerous adopted grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 4 legged grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Memorial Service will be at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30th, with Fr. Don Malin officiating. Rosary to be recited on Wednesday at 1:30 PM. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
