Mrs. Opal Lucile Jackson, 97, of Ordway passed away on Friday, May 18th, 2012 peacefully at Crowley County Nursing Center Opal was born in Clinton, MO on April 12, 1915, the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Bessie Ruth (Randolph) Thomas. She graduated from Wheatland High School in Wyoming then attended Colorado Women's College in Denver. Opal was the widow of Earl Edward Jackson. They were married on June 19, 1937 in Pueblo, CO. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1984. She worked as a Telephone Operator at Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph Company for 12 years. She was a member of Ordway Baptist Church in Ordway, CO. She is survived by: Son Richard husband of Janis Jackson of Pueblo, CO; Daughter Donna Daniels of Ordway, CO; Daughter Paulette White wife of Tom Thinnes of Cincinati, OH; Sister-in-law Mary Anne Jackson of Pueblo, CO; She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Greg, Gary, Lindalin, Linette & Amy; step-granddaughter: Pam; 9 great-grandchildren; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Paul Thomas and step-mother: Artie Thomas. Funeral Services will be at the Ordway Baptist Church, Ordway, CO, at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 22nd, with Rev. Don Parker officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 until service time at the Ordway Baptist Church. Interment will be at 2:00 PM in the Imperial Memorial Gardens in Pueblo, CO. Memorials may be made to Ordway Baptist Church 217 W. 3rd, Ordway, CO 81063. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
