Opal "Betty" Johannes

Mrs. Opal E. (Betty) Johannes, 87, of Rocky Ford passed away on Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at Penrose Main Medical Center, Colorado Springs, El Paso County, CO. Betty was born in TN on July 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Jack and Hattie Holloway. She was the widow of Alexander Johannes. They were married on Aug. 17, 1946 in Raton, NM. She was a member of the Ordway United Methodist Church Ordway, CO and attended the First United Methodist Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She was a member of the Red Hats and the Yet Set. Betty is survived by: Daughter M. Margaret wife of Allan Litchfield of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Audrey McDowell of Alabama; Step-Grandson Rex A. husband of Jill Litchfield of Star Valley, WY; Step-Grandson Rodney C. husband of Karen Litchfield of Beaverton, OR. She is also survived by 3 Step-Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by husband: Alex; son: Kim and 11 brothers & sisters. Funeral Services will be at the Ordway United Methodist Church, Ordway, CO, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12th, with De Etta Goettel officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 AM until service time at the Ordway United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Ordway, CO.
