Patricia (Pat) Ramey loving wife, loving mother and loving grandmother, 67 of Fowler, CO passed away Wednesday, January 1st, suddenly, at her home.

Pat was born in Tazwell, VA on April 5th 1952. Pat was the daughter of the late Glenna (Lester) and John Henry Chapman.

Pat graduated from Tazwell High School, Tazwell , VA in 1970. Pat then went on to receive her certification and worked as an LPN for several years. She then felt a calling to help those with special learning disabilities. Pat received her B.S. in Early Education from the University of New Mexico in 1989. Pat eventually went on to receive her M.S. in Special Education from BYU. She worked for several years with the Aztec Schools as an Elementary Teacher. Pat eventually went to work with Trinidad State University as a Special Education Professor.

Pat was married to Larry Ramey on August 6, 1970. Pat and Larry were married for 30 years and divorced. Pats love for life and animals continued and grew. Pat was always known for her special way with animals. She seemed to understand them and they seemed to understand her. She had a companion bird, a blue and gold McCaw that she loved very much. Pat and "Gabby" could be seen playing and sometimes fighting every day until the day of Pats passing. Over the years she had many friends as she referred to them. The bond between Pat and her animal friends was astonishing by any measure. Pat had two daughters, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pat was a loving grandmother and was loved dearly by her children and grandchildren.

Pat is Survived by: Daughters: Leigh Schaaf, of Fowler CO Amanda Womack (Luther Martin), of Deer Lodge MT Grandchildren: Taylor Funk (Cody Funk), of Dove Creek CO Josiah Schaaf, of Grand Jnction, CO Kye Womack, of Grand Junction, CO Jesse Womack, of Deer Lodge MT Great-Grandchildren: Adriean Womack, of Grand Junction, CO Tharden Womack, of Grand Junction, CO Artemis Womack of Grand Junction, CO Pat was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Ted and Tex Chapman.Per her request there will be no services. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
