Patrick Barela

Patrick A (Pat) Barela, 50, of Las Animas, CO, passed away Tuesday, November 14th, unexpectedly at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta, CO.

Patrick was born in Rocky Ford, CO on March 9, 1967, a son of Clorinda (Vialpando) Barela and the late Albino Barelo.

He worked for Express Printers in Denver for many years.

Pat was a joyful person who always had a joke to tell. He was always making people laugh. He was a kind person who would help anyone who needed it. He was the best cook and loved to cook for his loved ones. What he loved the most was spending time with his son, grandson Devon and the rest of the family.

He is survived by His mother Clarinda;

Son Patrick (Melissa) Barela, Jr.;

Brother Albie (Rita) Barela, Jr.;

Brother Joaquin Barela;

Brother Jerry (Shirley) Barela;

Brother David (Christina) Barela;

Sister Victoria (Eddie) Morales;

Grandson Devon Barela;

Special Friend Margaret Guiterrez;

Daughter-in-Law Veronica;

He is also survived by Nieces: Julie Barela, Melissa Franklin, Bernadette Barela, Marissa Barela, Abriana Barela, and Sonya Quiroz. Nephews: Michael Barela, Mario Barela, Joseph Barela, Anthony Barela, Robert Barela, Albie Barela, Steven Morales, Eddie Morales and C'mone Barela.

He was preceded in death by his father: Albino and a brother Marcos "Peanut" Barela.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 9th at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
