Paula A. (Polly) Ortiz, 81, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away on Monday, August 15th, 2016 peacefully at the University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, CO. Paula was born in French, NM on October 15, 1934, a daughter of the late Maria (Chavez) and Antonio Encinias. She was the widow of Cayetano Ortiz, they were married in Holly, CO. She attended St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. Polly retired from Frozen Foods in Rocky Ford, CO, she also enjoyed topping onions. She is survived by; Sister Natividad "TV" Licano, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Maria "Mable" Reyes, of Amarillo, TX; Sister Annie Aragon, of Pueblo, CO; Brother Tony, husband of Dorothy Encinias, of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother George, husband of Margaret Encinias, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Sandra Perez, of Liberal, KS. Polly was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Jake & Emilio Encinias; 2 sisters: Frances Muniz & Kika Guzman. A viewing will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 21st at Ford-Ustick Funeral in Rocky Ford, CO. Rosary Service will be at 9:30 AM on Monday, August 22nd with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 22nd both at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
