Peggy Schweizer-Love, 89, of Rocky Ford, went home to be with her Lord on September 10 at Cottonwood Ridge Assisted Living Center.
She was born on September 30,1936, to Elwin Morgan and Pauline (Covalt) Morgan at their home in an area that was known as DeVine, CO, near what is now Vineland, CO. She married John Schweizer on June 21, 1953. To this marriage 3 children were born, Kathy (Bruce) Boyd, Kenneth (Arlene) Schweizer, and Susan (David) Jordan. She graduated from Manzanola in 1954.
She worked as an administrative assistant and assistant lab technician at Colorado State University Diagnostic Laboratory in Rocky Ford. She worked there part-time for 6 years starting in 1969, and then full-time for 32 years starting in 1975 and retiring in 2007.
She married Leon Love on January 30,1999. She was a very talented piano player and organist. She played for the Manzanola United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She also played for many weddings, funerals, and any other functions needing a pianist. Above all else, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Peggy is survived by daughters Kathy (Bruce) Boyd, Susan (David) Jordan, and daughter-in-law Arlene Schweizer; grandchildren Matt (Carrie) Boyd, Morgan (Jake Craig) Boyd Willett, Michelle (Matt) Gardner, Chris (Randa) Schweizer, Andy (Kelsey) Schweizer, Jason (Amanda) Jordan, and Ryan (Kristin) Jordan; 16 great-grandchildren; and siblings Don Morgan, Betty Murray, and Dianna Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Love, both her parents, brother Richard Morgan, son Kenneth Schweizer, and grandson-in-law Rick Willett.
A celebration of her life graveside service will be September 30, 2026 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford with Rev. John Dell officiating.
