Mrs. Plasida Gabaldon Montanez, 94, of Rocky Ford passed away on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Plasida was born in Rocky Ford, CO on September 11, 1918, the daughter of the late Noberto and Severana H. (Hernandez) Gabaldon. She was the widow of Manuel M. Montanez they were married in 1932. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1976. She worked as a Lab Technician at American Crystal Sugar Factory in Rocky Ford, CO, for 27 campaigns Plasida was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church Rocky Ford, CO she was a member of the St. Anthony's Circle. She is survived by; Son Charley (Mary) Montanez of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Leo (Rose) Montanez of La Junta, CO; Son Raymond (Dorothy) Montanez of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Trinidad-June (John) Arnaud of Carencro, LA; Daughter Linda (Henry) Martinez of Greeley, CO; Son Rudy (Vicky) Montanez of La Salle, CO; Sister Annie Romero of Ft. Collins, CO. She is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She his also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, 6 brothers, 2 sisters and great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 4th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. A Rosary Service will be recited at 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
