Charles Randolph (Randy) Crump, 61, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Sunday, January 26th, while in the company of family members, at his residence. Randy was born in La Junta, CO on July 19, 1952, a son of the late Florence Louise (Klement) and Henry Charles Crump. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School and from Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo with a Diesel Mechanic Certificate. He was the husband of Christine "Kris" (DeForest) Crump, they were married on July 18, 1976 in Rocky Ford, CO. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Hauler at TLM Constructors in Swink, CO. After college Randy worked at NADCO as a Supervisor then went to work for VALCO as a supervisor of the asphalt trucks and then ran a rock crusher. He ended up at the Asphalt plant south of Rocky Ford where he was a fixture there going through many companies when it sold to Wyoming is when he started hauling heavy equipment. Randy was a member of RF Elks Lodge #1147, sponsor of 4-H in Otero County, American Truck Historical Society, Life Member of the NRA and volunteered for the FFA. He is survived by his wife; Kris of the home; Daughter Hillary, wife of Anthony Merwin, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Henry Crump, of Sugar City, CO; Son Charles Emery Crump, of Woodland Park, CO. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Kaysa; Cayden; Hunter; Brawnsen; He also was an exchange dad for many young people: Amy McFetridge from New Zealand; Daniel Barker from South Africa; Mechi Azpilicueta from Argentina and Alex Frischmann from Austria. Randy was preceded in death by his parents; step-father: Arlo Williams; Mother & Father in-laws: Richard & Betty DeForest; Sister-in-law: Laurie Stawsky. Funeral Services will be at the Church of the Nazarene, La Junta, CO, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1st, with Wallace Kurtz officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-7 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Family requests donations to Arkansas Valley Hospice; 531 Lewis La Junta, CO 81050 or an account as been opened at the First National Bank of Las Animas; made out to Christine Crump benefit for Charles "Randy" Crump.
