Raymond Dean Gause, 87, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Tuesday, December 15th, at Bent County Healthcare Center, Las Animas.

Raymond was born in Alamosa, CO on April 26, 1933, a son of the late Ruby (Hancock) and Raymond Van Dyke McClure.

He was the widower of Lura Bell (Frazier) Gause, they were married on November 19, 1954 in Raton, NM.

He was a member of Full Gospel Church, Rocky Ford, CO.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Raymond worked at the Safeway Grocery Store until it closed.

He is survived by: Daughter Dorcas, wife of Joe Workman, of Denver, CO; Daughter Dorinda Deatherage, of La Junta; Daughter Danell, wife of Jose De Herrera, of La Junta, CO; Brother Dale McClure, of Denton, Texas; Brother Don, husband of Carol Gause, of Rocky Ford, CO.

He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Rebecca Workman, Benjamin Workman, Kaylan Goodwin, Jerome Lorenzo, Jr., Janell Lorenzo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Lura; adopted parents: John & Madelyn Gause; sister: Bonnie (Harold) Barnett; 3 brothers: Lawrence (Margie) Wilson, Clayton McClure, Kenneth (Mildred) Gause; sisters - in - law: Viola McClure and Wilson.

Viewing will be held 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22nd at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22nd at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor Virgil Ortega officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO. Military Honors will be provided by the Rocky Ford American Legion Post #8. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice; 531 Lewis La Junta, CO 81050.
