Raymond Lee Mora, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born to Frank and Anita Mora on July 5, 1953, in Longmont, Raymond's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and deep familial love.
For over 33 years, Raymond dedicated himself as the warehouse manager at Hollar Seeds, where his work ethic and leadership left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to work alongside him. Yet, it was in the warm embrace of his family that Raymond truly found his greatest joy. His wife of 44 years, Maria Mora, was his steadfast companion and the love of his life. Together, they nurtured a family bound by love, respect, and shared memories.
Raymond was a man of great humor and kindness, known for his generous spirit and a good sense of humor that never failed to brighten those around him. He carried a profound love for his grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them. Raymond's interests were as vibrant as his personality—he enjoyed watching westerns, indulged in fishing trips, and was an ardent fan of the Denver Broncos. Wrestling matches were another passion, reflecting his lively and enthusiastic spirit.
His family legacy is carried on by his three devoted children: Jennifer (Casey) Valerio, Raymond (Anna Downing) Mora, Jr., and Frank (Luisa) Mora. He was a proud and loving grandfather to thirteen grandchildren: Dominic Torres, Joshua Cordova, Sarah Cordova, Kayla Garcia, Kirsten Garcia, Jacob Mora, Adriana Mora, Melody Mora, Arya Mora, Emily Isaacs, Luz Rios, Amara Rios, and Violet Rios. His joy extended further to four great-grandchildren: Tavien Torres, Mila Torres, Bronx Torres, and Alina Garcia, all of whom were cherished dearly.
Raymond’s family also includes his two siblings who survive him: Frances (Floyd) Valencia and Helen (Doug) Valencia. The sorrow of his passing is felt deeply, compounded by the memory of those who went before him—his son Michael Garcia, his parents, and his nine siblings: Dan Mora, Jerry Mora, Louis Mora, Ramos Mora, Mary Mora, Elsie Mora, Pauline Velez, Aurora Lujan, and Angie Barela.
The community will gather to honor Raymond’s memory on May 12, 2026, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, located in Rocky Ford. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the rosary at 9:30 a.m., and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. This service will allow all who knew Raymond to come together, celebrate his life, and find comfort in shared remembrance.
Raymond Lee Mora, Sr.’s life's journey leaves an enduring legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. His presence in the hearts of his family, friends, and community continues to shine brightly, much like the kindness and warmth he so freely gave throughout his life. He will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
