Jay Richard "Dick" Power 77, of Rocky Ford, died Monday, April 2, 2017 at Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford. A memorial service will be 11am Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Rocky Ford with Pastor Marty Lee officiating. Dick was born November 11, 1939 in Mount Vernon, NY to Dorothy and Edward Power. His family relocated to the Chicago area where he graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1957 and attended Southern Illinois University. He was employed by General Motors in LaGrange, Illinois for 30 years working as a senior buyer in the Electro-Motive Division. In 1992 he retired from General Motors and soon after moved to Colorado. Dick loved the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, tennis and skiing. He was an avid road biker pursuing several multi-state long distance rides. Preceded in death by parents Dorothy and Edward Power and special friend Nancy Collier. He is survived by family, Nancy Power of McLean, Va, daughters Brooke (Matthew) Proctor of Rocky Ford, CO and Stacy (Geoff) Pence of Great Falls, VA. Grandchildren Alexander, Isabella, Gabriel and Harrison Proctor of Rocky Ford, CO. and Morgan, Walker and Stella Pence of Great Falls, VA.
