Robert E. Bruns, Sr.

October 30, 1915 - June 15, 2010

Mr. Robert Edward Bruns, 94, of Pueblo West, died Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 at Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, CO. Robert was born in Morrismill, MO on October 30, 1915, to the late Lewis and Anna (Kommer) Bruns. He was the widower of Almyra "Myra" Pearl (Shurtz) Bruns. They were married in 1941. She preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 1967. He served in the US Army Air Force as a Tech Sgt. during WWII. He retired as a Grounds Guidance Technician at Pueblo Army Depot in the Nike Ajax Missile Systems in Pueblo, CO. He retired after 25 years of service. He had worked for his brother Herb as a custom cutter in rural Rocky Ford for many years. He enjoyed fishing with his son Bob, gardening, taking care of his quail, traveling, he was an avid reader, and the highlight of his day was watching the Colorado Rockies. He is survived by: Daughter Beverly Hogge of Casper, WY; Son Robert Bruns, Jr. of Pueblo West, CO; Granddaughter Angelia wife of Ron Evans of Casper, WY; Grandson Robert C. Bruns of Orlando, FL; Great-Grandson Austin Evans of Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. There will be no services as cremation has been effected.
