Robert Darrel Lovisone, born on June 19, 1939, in Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, in Manzanola. A lifelong resident of Colorado, Robert's journey began with humble beginnings as a paperboy for the Denver Post, laying the foundation for a distinguished career.

Following high school, Robert graduated from Englewood High School in the class of 1957, where he was an active member of the band, skillfully playing the clarinet. His dedication and commitment to service led him to join the Navy, alongside his brother Donald, where they attended boot camp together. Robert continued his military education at Aviation Fundamental School and furthered his training at the Memphis School of Avionics at Olathe NAS in 1959. After a commendable military career, he retired from the Navy Reserves after 40 years of dedicated service, which he regarded as one of his proudest accomplishments.

Robert worked for the state of Colorado as their communications engineer until his retirement, cementing his legacy in the field. His talents extended beyond his professional work; he possessed a unique personality and a remarkable gift for sharing knowledge. As those close to him would attest, if you asked him what time it was, he would explain how to build a clock.

In his personal life, Robert married Barbara on October 29, 1960, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Dee (Jason Irwin) Lovisone of Manzanola and is remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Cassie Lynn Rodrigues of Denver and Matthew Stevens of Holiday, FL. Robert also leaves behind brothers Donald Steven Lovisone, Gerald Steinsiek, Larry Steinsiek, Willard Steinsiek, and sisters Clydene Rice and Cora Lee Chittenden.

Robert's interests included watching science channels and taking courses in astronomy, reflecting his ceaseless curiosity about the universe. Among his treasured memories are cherished moments driving engaging in playful banter over games of why and what, punctuating his life with joy and laughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Wilma Lovisone; his son Darrel, and his grandparents, Clementine Lovisone and Matilda Harlow. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, knowledge, and a profound impact on the lives of those he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
