Rodney Lee Hoffmeyer of Rocky Ford passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his home at the age of 65. Rod was born in Estherville, IA to Richard and Grace Hoffmeyer. Rod graduated from high school then joined the United Stated Marine Corps. After he got out of the Marines, Rod married Judy and they moved to Rocky Ford. He earned a degree in Horticulture and worked for the Rocky Ford City Golf Course for 40 years where he was the superintendent. Rod was a member of the Rocky Ford Elks Lodge #1147 and he was a former Exalted Ruler.Â

Rod is survived by his wife of 46 years Judy Hoffmeyer, 2 children: Travis (Rikki) Hoffmeyer of Duncan, OK, Nathan (Amy) Hoffmeyer of Rocky Ford, 4 grandchildren: Aia, Conner, Tim (Jessie) & Cole, 3 sisters: Marlys James of Manchester, CA, Mariene (Ivan) Brosh of Estherville, IA, Marsha Long of Ruthven, IA.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
