Mrs. Rose M. Montoya, 82, of Rocky Ford died on Thursday, November 4th, 2010 while in the company of family members at the Pioneer Health Care Center. Rose was born in Ojo Sarco, NM on April 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Fidel and Maria Aguida (Leyba) Lopez. She was the widow of Henry Joseph Montoya. They were married on July 11, 1946 in Rocky Ford, CO. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2002. She was a homemaker and worked for many years at Frozen Foods. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Daughter Lorraine Marez of Denver, CO; Son Henry E. (Kathy) Montoya of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Sam (Julia Vigil) Montoya of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter/Granddaughter Crystal Ann (Ruben) Martinez of Colorado Springs, CO; Son/Grandson Sammy Montoya of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson: Christopher (Brandy) Montoya of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Elsie (Conrad Aragon) Montoya of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Lisa Montoya of Colorado Springs, CO; Grandson Adrian (Jolene) Montoya of Hersey, MI; Grandson Adam (Jen) Marez of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Lorena Montoya (Jimmy Pendry) Marez of New York, NY; Sister Ruth Montoya of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Becky Garcia of Grants, NM; Sister Bennie Mascarenas of Leadville, CO; Sister Percina Arellano of Chamisal, NM; Brother Nick Lopez of Rocky Ford, Co; Brother Dennis Lopez of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Alden Lopez of Ojo Sarco, NM; Brother Fidel (Josephine) Lopez of Chamisal, NM. She is also survived by 15 Great-Grandchildren: Avenlea, Jacob, Shelby, Bryon, Ariyah, Nikiyah, Cadence, Lyra, Jenae, Scarlet, Montana, Benji, Aaron, Marissa, Andres. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law; Lydia and Willie Sanchez; sister-in-law: Della Montoya. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 11th, with Fr. Don Malin officiating. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 11th at the St. Peters Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 10th from 1-5 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
