Rosemary Gonzales

Rosemary (Rosie Romero) Gonzales, 79, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Thursday, September 24th, while in the company of family members, at her residence. Rosemary was born in Rocky Ford, CO on February 7, 1936, a daughter of the late Maria Lecaudia (Segura) Archuleta and Antonio Feliciano Gonzales. She attended school in Manzanola & Otero Junior College. Rosie married Juan D. Romero on Aug. 15, 1957 in Rocky Ford, CO, they were later divorced. She worked as a Cook at Ginger's Cafe Rocky Ford, CO as well as numerous others restaurants throughout the valley. Rosie was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader, she enjoyed helping and volunteering for anything that was asked of her and drinking coffee with her friends. She is survived by; Son Ted B. husband of Terri Romero, of San Jose, CA; Daughter Debbie J. Romero, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Juan D. husband of Su Romero, Jr., of Lacey, WA; Son Michael A. husband of Yvonne Romero, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Tracy R. Romero, of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Benjamin, husband of Liz Gonzales, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Maxine, wife of Steve Garcia, of Sacramento, CA; Sister Carrie, wife of Adrian De Wald, of Littleton, CO; Special Sister-in-law, Patsy Calderon of Phoenix, AZ. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband: Juan D. Romero, Sr.; brothers: Oxley Gonzales, Charley Gonzales, Freddie Gonzales; Sisters: Eloisa Lovato, Agnes Tafoya, Benita Trujillo, Cecilia Baca; grandson: Jody Gallegos. She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Memorial Service will be at the Full Gospel Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 9th, with Pastor Virgil Ortega officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Family request donations to Sangre De Cristo Hospice 124 Cranston Ave Fowler, CO 81039.
