Mrs. Rosita Marie (Rosie) Cordova, 63, of Rocky Ford passed away on Friday, May 17th, 2013 while in the company of family members at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, Pueblo, CO. Rosita was born in Phoenix, AZ on July 24, 1949, the daughter of William Benjamin and Gavina (Magdaleno) Valdez. She graduated from Rocky Ford High School. Rosie was married to Joe Cordova in 1970, they later divorced. She worked in Housekeeping at Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford, CO. Rosie was also self-employed and worked at various other jobs. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by her mother: Gavina of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Glenda (Oscar) Cordova-Perez of Odessa, TX; Son Joe "Gijo" Cordova of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Tracy Cordova of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Paul (Debbie) Valdez of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Jennie (Hunter) Valdez of Ft. Collins, CO; Sister Tina (Jack) Valdez of Ft. Collins, CO; Sister Susie (Don) Vaughn of Ft. Collins, CO; Brother Martin (Cindy) Valdez of Rocky Ford, CO; She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Nathan Cordova, Tyler Marquez, Bailey Perez, Jadyen Perez, Dominic Torres, Joshua Cordova, Sarah Cordova; 1 great-grandchild: Tavin Torres; God-Daughter Danette Cordova of La Junta, CO; God-Son Martin Valdez, Jr. of Rocky Ford, CO and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosie was preceded in death by brother: Joseph Valdez; sister: Christine Valdez and her father: Willie Valdez. A Rosary Service will be recited at 10:30 AM Wednesday with A Mass of Christian Burial to follow will be both at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22nd. Visitation will be on Tuesday 1-4 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
