Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Hancock, 80, of Rocky Ford died on Monday, May 31st, 2010 while in the company of family members at Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Center - East, LaJunta, CO. Ruth was born in Kansas City, MO on November 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Harold Godfrey and Ruth (Johnson) Mang. She graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo in 1948 and attended Pueblo Jr. College. She was the wife of Robert "Bob" G. Hancock. They were married on August 21, 1949 in Pueblo. He survives of the home. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. She was a dedicated homemaker and was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford. She was a member of Job's Daughter; the Rocky Ford PEO Chapter EU; Pioneer Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; a former member of the Phi Beta Kappa; as well as several local Bridge Clubs. She and her husband were members of the Arkansas Valley Shrine Club always looking forward to feeding the Shriner's who participated in the Arkansas Valley Parade. Ruth loved to entertain and her home was always open to everyone. She was a devoted and proud wife, mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She was extremely close to her sister-in-laws Maureen, Donna, and Eleanor Hancock. She and Bob especially enjoyed traveling with them and their husbands Harold, Doug and Lee Hancock. Bob and Ruth's travels included seven cruises, one of which included an extensive trip to Europe. She is survived by her husband, Bob of the home; Daughter Linda wife of Gary Klipp of Greeley, CO; Daughter Denise wife of Chris Roybal of Long Beach, CA; Daughter Gail wife of Gary Davies of Broomfield, CO; Granddaughter Amanda wife of Mark Kresser of Manhattan Beach, CA; Granddaughter Elizabeth Davies of Platteville, CO; Grandson Zach Weber of Long Beach, CA; Grandson Jason Klipp of Greeley, CO; Grandson Gunnar Weber of Greeley, CO; Grandson Tyrel husband of Audra Davies of Broomfield, CO; Grandson Andrew Davies of Broomfield, CO; Great-Granddaughter Tasia Weber of Eldorado Springs, MO; Great-Grandson Charlie Kresser of Manhattan Beach, CA; Sister-in-law Donna Hancock of Federal Way, WA; Brother-in-law Lee Hancock of Rocky Ford, CO; Numerous Nieces and Nephews Numerous Grand Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by: sister-in-laws: Elizabeth McCarthy, Maureen and Eleanor Hancock; brother-in-laws: Elmer, Doug and Harold Hancock. Memorial Service will be at Community Presbyterian Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4th, with Rev. Steve Culver officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private in Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Presbyterian Church 303 S. 9th Rocky Ford, CO 81067. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
