Ruth Erlinda Herrera, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, graced the world with her presence on March 10, 1940, in Walsenburg, Colorado. She departed this life gently, surrounded by her family, on February 17, 2026, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Falsetta, her daughter Charmaine Sidhu, her sister Sadie Sandoval, and her brother John Falsetta. She, however, leaves behind a loving family, including her sister Geraldine Ofelia Ramirez, a testament to the bonds of love forged throughout her life.
Ruth’s warmth and open-hearted nature made her a sanctuary for many. Those who knew her described her as kind, loving, understanding, and supportive—always ready to welcome anyone who entered her home with open arms. She dedicated a significant part of her life to her work at Auspex Electronics as a PC board assembler, showcasing her strength and dedication.
Family was at the heart of Ruth's life. Nothing filled her heart more than gathering her family with her favorite home cooked meals, playing card games, and spending the evening watching Western shows with her husband, Jesus Herrera. From their unbreakable 71-years of love came their three children, Charmaine Sidhu(departed), Roberta Ann (Tony) Bunch and Charlotte Margaret (Ricky Baca) Herrera. Five grandchildren, Andrew, Salina, Natalie (Daniel), Charlene (Derrick), and Jessica (Jante). Sixteen great-grandchildren, Alicia, Jazzlene (Saul), Andrew Jr .(Esmirna), Christian, Ashton, Keara, Sergio, Jante Jr., Daniel, Liliana, Sebastian, Gabriel, Janaya, Jacob, Alexis, and Kameron. One great great-grandchild, Camila.
Ruth's spirit was not confined to her family alone; she created a haven filled with dance, travel, evenings spent reading her cherished romance novels, bingo and enjoying a cold miche. Her love for life left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her, creating memories that will continue to be celebrated for years to come.
A graveside service will be held to honor Ruth's remarkable life on February 26, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford. As we gather to remember Ruth Erlinda Herrera, may we carry forward her spirit of kindness, her love for family, and her passion for celebration, ensuring her legacy lives on in our hearts and actions.
