Seferino Lopez

Seferino "Sifer" Villado Lopez, 79, of Crowley, CO, passed away on Saturday, July 23rd, while in the company of family at Joni Fair Hospice House, Pueblo, CO. Seferino was born in Olney Springs, Co. on August 26, 1936, a son of the late Sabina (Villado) and Demetrio Lopez. He married Martha Lucero at St Peters Catholic Church in Ordway, Colorado. Sef served in the US Navy from August 1957 to August 1963, retiring as a nurse technician at Fort Lyon VA Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Martha of the home; Together they raised four children; Christina (Alfonso) Martinez, Mario Lopez, Ernestina (Greg) Montoya, Kathy Cunningham (Tim Stouffer). Nine grandchildren Nathan (Julie) Martinez, William Lopez, Curtis Cunningham, Louis Cunningham, Jessica (Chris) Workman, Michelle Cunningham, Emanuel, Toni, and Jacob Montoya. Six great grandchildren Ava and Roman Martinez, Sarayah, Evalie, and Briar Cunningham and Aubrielle Montoya. He was preceded in death by his parents Demietrio and Sabina Lopez: 2 brothers Delo and Chris Lopez and a sister: Vera Sanchez. A Rosary Service will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, July 27th at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral. Online condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
