Seferino "Sef" Ornelas

Seferino M. (Sef) Ornelas, 81, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Monday, January 29th, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Seferino was born in Fabian, TX on August 26, 1936, a son of the late Cora (Martinez) and Ruperto Ornelas.

He was the husband of Vitalia "Vita" (Medina) Ornelas, they were married on June 15, 1963 in Rocky Ford, CO.

He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO.

He worked as a Farm Foreman at Hirakata Farms Rocky Ford, CO. He had also worked at American Crystal Sugar Factory, Leone Construction, Western Foods, Campbell and Dunn Farms and St. Peter's Catholic Church.

He is survived by;

Wife; Vita of the home;

Daughter Patsy (Rocky) Lucero, of Rocky Ford, CO.

Son Floyd (Sandra) Ornelas, of Rocky Ford, CO;

Daughter Florence (Ed Blea) Ornelas, of Pueblo, CO;

Grandson Floyd (Alexandria Lovato) Ornelas, Jr., of Ordway, CO;

Grandson Vincent Ornelas, of Rocky Ford, CO;

Grandson Daniel (Angelica Perez) Ornelas, of Rocky Ford, CO;

Grandson Kurtis Ornelas, of Rocky Ford, CO;

Grandson Eric (Kayla Vigil) Ornelas, of Manzanola, CO;

Great-Grandchildren Emily Elizabeth Ornelas, of Manzanola, CO;

His favorite pet Chiquita;

He his also survived by 9 sisters and 2 brothers. Special granddaughters: Angelica Perez; Felicia Perez & Kayla Vigil, numerous nieces, nephews and God - Children.

Sef was preceded in death by his parents; Ruperto and Cora; grandson: Keith Ornelas; 2 brothers; mother and father-in-law: Alfonso & Ida Medina; 4 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws.

A Rosary Service will be recited at 10:00 AM with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 6th at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Viewing will be on Monday from 2 - 5 PM at Ford - Ustick Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private family at a later time in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
