Sheena Maria Ochoa, beloved daughter, mother, granddaughter, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2026, in Rocky Ford, at the age of 40. Sheena’s sudden departure leaves her family and all who knew her with hearts full of cherished memories and profound sorrow.

Born on March 9, 1986, in La Junta, Sheena was blessed with a bright spirit that illuminated the lives of everyone she encountered. Raised in a loving family, Sheena learned early on what it meant to be caring, forgiving, and kind. The values instilled by her devoted parents, Gerald and Brenda Ochoa, shaped her into a woman with a heart of gold—a mother, daughter, and friend who always put others before herself.

Sheena graduated from Rocky Ford High School and went on to dedicate her career to her community. Working at Tank & Tummy brought her great joy, as she relished the opportunity to interact with customers, share her warmth, and brighten their days with her gentle humor and gracious smile.

Above all, Sheena’s greatest pride and joy were her children—Dameon Baca, Alexia Baca, and Donovan Baca. She loved her children deeply, pouring her heart into every moment she spent with them. Whether celebrating a birthday or holiday, Sheena always went above and beyond to create memories that would last a lifetime. Each night, she tenderly sang “You Are My Sunshine” to her children as they grew, loving and comforting them in a way only she could. Her dedication as a mother was a reflection of the loving guidance she experienced from her own parents, and she often expressed how grateful she felt for the example they set.

Sheena is survived by her children: Dameon, Alexia, and Donovan Baca; her father, Gerald Ochoa; her mother, Brenda Ochoa; her grandmother, Mary Ochoa; her brother, Angel (Tina) Ochoa; her nephew, Javen Ochoa; her niece, Makayla Ochoa; her aunts, Gina (Robert) Trujillo, Elaine (Bobby) Davis, and Shirley Cole; her uncles, Rick (Chandra) Ochoa, Jessie (Christina) Ochoa, Edward (Marybell) Ochoa, Charles Montanez, and Jim Garcia; and her ex-husband Ray Orosco. Each of these loved ones will remember Sheena’s boundless love, infectious laughter, and the strength she displayed in facing life’s challenges.

Sheena was predeceased by her grandfathers, Richard Ochoa and Charlie Montanez; her grandmother, Mary Montanez; and her husband, Richard Baca, whose memories she kept close to her heart.

Those who knew Sheena admired her remarkable character. Sheena was, by all accounts, an exceptionally forgiving, kind, and caring individual. Her love for others seemed limitless, and she was always ready with a warm smile or a lighthearted joke to lift someone’s spirits. She especially enjoyed swimming and shared a special bond with her beloved chihuahua, lovingly known as her “baby Teddy.”

Sheena Maria Ochoa’s legacy of kindness, devotion, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love she so freely gave during her precious years with us.
