Shirley Gail Stuart, 82, of Hasty, CO, peacefully passed away on January 7, 2024 in Colorado Springs.

Shirley was born on March 19, 1941 to Pete and Mary Roberts in Las Animas. After Shirley graduated from Las Animas High School in 1959, she went on to enter a career in office management.

The simplest pleasure in life brought great joy to Shirley. She loved a quiet evening with her husband and a dog on her lap. During the summer months, Shirley could often times be found working and enjoying the beauty of her yard and gorgeous flower beds. She had the ability to find happiness in her daily activities and her kindness and loving personality was contagious to everyone.

In 1989, Shirley married Cliff Stuart. Prior to marrying Cliff, Shirley had six children: James Thayer, Jr of Las Animas, Sandra Kim Reeves of Olney Springs, Michael Scott Ham of Westcliffe, and Jeffrey Lee Ham of Denver. Shanda Wallace of SC, Lucas Stuart of AZ.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pete and Mary Roberts, and sister, JoAnn Rich. Shirley is survived by her husband, Cliff, all four of her children, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great- great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lamar City Animal Shelter, 8551 County Rd. EE.5, Lamar, CO 81052 , a cause Shirley felt strongly about.
