Stanley Allyn (Stan) Rubey, 86, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Sunday, December 16th, suddenly, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta.

Stanley was born in Rocky Ford, CO on July 24, 1932, a son of Peter and Mary (Keck) Rubey.

He graduated from Rocky Ford High School and attended Adams State University.

He worked as a Lab Tech for American Crystal Sugar Factory in Rocky Ford, for many years. After the sugar factory closed he helped keep the books for Hirakata Farms.

Stan loved to talk sports and was an avid BRONCO FAN! He enjoyed riding bicycles "in his younger days" and was even known to enjoy an occasional dog race. His love for sports never ceased and he always asked for the sports page first thing every morning.

He is survived by; Brother Arnold (Kay) Rubey, of Boise, ID; Niece Cheryl, of Boise, ID; Friend Jane Milenski, of Rocky Ford, CO; Friend Frank Burchett, of Rocky Ford, CO; Friend Don (Karlene) Scofield, of Rocky Ford, CO; Friend Don (Carol) Gause, of Rocky Ford, CO.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; nephew: Christopher Rubey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8th at Cottonwood Assistant Living in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor Arnold Rubey officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later time Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
