Long Time Teacher Passes Away

Stephen Roy Webster was born December 29, 1949 at Kenilworth, UT. He died March 5, 2023 in Rocky Ford, at 73 years of age. Stephen taught at Rocky Ford's Jefferson School in room 24 for 31 years. He also coached football, basketball, and track all of those years. He was active in the Rocky Ford Education Association, the Colorado Education Association, and the National Education Association. He served as president of the Rocky Ford Education Association numerous times. He said that he had spent hundreds of hours riding in a school bus. Also, he said that his wife Debbie was the best part of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Deborah, his 2 sons: Wayne (Sally) Webster of Wooster, OH and Wyatt Webster of Denver, granddaughter Stella Webster, 2 sisters: Peggy Warde and Jean Hooper. He was preceded in death by his sister Carla Smith and grandson Reid Webster.

No services are planned and an inurnment will take place later at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
