Susie Kay Muth

Susie Kay Muth (Stephenson) of La Junta, Colorado passed away Sunday, September 29. Born in Corpus Cristi, Texas on April 4th, 1962 to Randall (Fred) and Jeri (Bryant) Stephenson. Susie graduated from Swink High School in 1980 and Otero Jr. College in 1982. She was the wife of Dale Edward Muth, married on April 10th, 1982 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Susie was active in many ministries in the valley including the Arkansas Valley Pregnancy Center, Valley Cowboy Church, Valley Community Church, and participated in a quilting ministry with Valley Community Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Susie helped run the family farm while raising her four children Jason,Bryan,Jeremy, and Chelsey Muth. She took the responsibility of taking the kids to swim lessons, 4-H meetings, ball practices and games; as well as helping teach Sunday School, orchestrate Christmas programs, and manage the other household duties. She loved her position in life as a helpmate and mother and more recently as grandmother to her three grandchildren Aliyah, Caden, and Jaselyn. Susie managed the bills for the farm and drove school bus for Swink School when the kids got older so she could be their biggest supporter along side Dale at all their sporting activities. Susie took joy in being in the middle of a good prank and had a contagious smile and laugh, yet she had the ability to meet you where you were at and ask the hard questions in her loving and gentle way because she cared that much. She had a heart for people and took the time to pray for church family and friends in need. She had a real servents heart and the doors to the house have always been wide open; housing and feeding many friends over the years. She is survived by her husband Dale of Rocky Ford, CO; Parents Randall (Fred) and Jeri Stephenson; Son Jason, husband of Tiffanie Muth, of Cheyenne Wells, CO; Son Bryan, husband of Rachel Muth, of Greeley, CO; Son Jeremy, husband of Hannah Muth, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Chelsey Muth, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Peggy Jo, wife of Chuck Becker, of South Carolina; Sister-in-law Tami, wife of her late brother Clayton Stephenson, of La Junta, CO; Brother-in-law Leon, husband of Janet Golden, of La Junta, CO; Mother-in-Law Dorothy Muth, of La Junta, CO. She is also survived by grandchildren; Aliyah, Caden, and Jaselyn Muth of Cheyenne Wells, CO. Nieces and Nephews: Jennifer Meis, Alisha Johnson, Nicholas Becker, Brandon Becker, Audre Stephenson and Hailey Stephenson. Susie was preceded in death by her Brother: Clayton Stephenson and Father-in-Law: Alfred Muth. Funeral Services will be at the Swink High School Gymnasium, Swink, CO, at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 7th, with Pastor Kurt England officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
