Theodora "Teddie" M. Valdez, 75, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Wednesday, December 25th, suddenly, at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, Pueblo, Pueblo County. Theodora was born in Alamosa, CO on January 27, 1938, a daughter of the late Maclovia R. (Esquibel) and Theodore Lucero. She graduated from Alamosa High School. She was the wife of Lucas Valdez. On 3/12/1961, they were married at Denver, CO. Teddie retired as the Secretary at Denver Public Schools, Denver, CO after 27 1/2 years of service. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO and was a member of various groups and very active volunteering and assisting when ever asked. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary & American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Lucas of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Cindy Acevedo, of Thornton, CO; Daughter Gina Garcia (Ruben Ramos), of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Marlene (Alejandro) Jimenez, of Thornton, CO; Daughter Liz Godoy (Victor Esquibel), of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Theresa (Ernest) Espinoza, of Ordway, CO. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother and 4 sisters; grandson: Jacob Trujillo A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, 1209 Swink, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 4th. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-4 PM on Jan. 3, 2013 at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ordway, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
