Tom Monesmith

January 20, 1927 - December 12, 2008

Mr. Tom Monesmith, 81, of Rocky Ford died on Friday, December 12th, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Denver, CO. Tom was born in Wenatchee, WA on January 20, 1927, the son of the late Gus and Laura Belle (Branin) Monesmith. He was the husband of Delores (Hayes) Monesmith. They were married on August 26, 1966 in Carson City, NV. He worked as a Power Lineman, retiring in 1996. After retiring, he went into Drilling and Blasting. He and a crew blasted all the roads on Mt. St. Helens after it erupted. As he put it "I lived an exciting life". He also served as a Business Agent for the Teamsters. He served in the U.S. Navy as a EM2C in WW II. He is survived by his wife of the home; daughter: Billie Elmes and her companion Paul of Wenatchee, WA; daughter: Florence Lea Churchill and her husband Harrey of Georgia; daughter: Terrie Lynn Monesmith of Idaho; son: Jim Breshears of Idaho; daughter Tina Sachenmier of Snohomish, WA; daughter Pamela Proffit of Wenatchee, WA; son Joseph E. Monesmith of Wenatchee, WA; sister Nellie Reeves of Wenatchee, WA; sister Mildred Travis of Wenatchee, WA; sister Marrion Gossmen of Wenatchee, WA. He was a wonderful step-father and father. His main goal was too get through the day and take the family fishing and hunting. He is also survived by Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren Memorial Services will be later in, Wenatchee, WA,. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected.
