William Truman (Harry) McKinney, 87, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Friday, May 25th, at his residence.
Truman was born in Vroman, CO on October 8, 1930, a son of the late Buna Ann (Robertson) and Charles Hobart McKinney.
He was the husband of Teresa Marie McKinney, they were married in Clayton, New Mexico on Sept. 20, 1950.
Truman graduated from Manzanola High School in 1949.
He worked as a Truck Driver/Mechanic at Wright Motor Lines in Rocky Ford, CO, worked for himself and for Rocky Ford Pet Foods.
Truman enjoyed hunting, watching baseball & football on TV, having coffee with friends and telling stories about his adventures while being a truck driver. He loved his family very much and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Teresa of the home; Daughter Kathy Foster, of Monahans, TX; Son Rodney (Valerie) McKinney, of Fowler, CO; Son John McKinney, of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Janelle Foster, of Las Vegas, NV; Grandson Jason (Michelle) Foster, of Wray, CO; Granddaughter Janee (Jeff) Sapp, of Swink, CO; Granddaughter Kim (Jeremy) Wallace, of Fowler, CO; Granddaughter Karly (Dan) Kauffman, of Ft. Morgan, CO. He is also survived by 8 great - grandchildren.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Karen Bates; son: Max McKinney; sister: Ruby Eckhart; brother: Marvin McKinney.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5th at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor John Dell officiating. Inurnment took place prior to services in Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice 531 Lewis La Junta, CO 81050.
