Velma Marie Roberts, 97, of Rocky Ford, died February 24, 2018 in Loveland, CO. A memorial service will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery on Monday March 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Charles Shipman officiating.

Velma was born November 23, 1920 in Rocky Ford to Alfred L and Iva Roberts.

She graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1938. After graduating she began working as a civil servant employee at locations in Colorado and Kansas. The majority of her career she worked as a civilian Secretary in the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center in Denver. She was pleased to be working for Air Force Colonels. She retired after 38 years.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dr. EL Roberts. She is survived by two nephews, Dr. Loren L Roberts of Naples, Florida and Dale W Roberts of Loveland, Colorado. 5 grand nephews and nieces, and 16 great grand nephews and nieces.

Velma was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She loved puppies and dogs of all types. She loved to read and she especially loved Christian music.
