Mrs. Vidalia (Vi) Cordova, 97, of Rocky Ford passed away on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 peacefully at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Vidalia was born in Chaperito, NM on November 14, 1915, the daughter of the late Frank DeSales and Dolores (Lucero) Garcia. She was the widow of Edward Cordova. They were married in 1945. He preceded her in death August 21, 1997. She retired as a Sales Clerk at JcPenney Rocky Ford, CO and she also worked for the City of Rocky Ford in the custodial department. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by: Daughter Carol wife of Bob Avila of Littleton, CO; Son Kenneth husband of Belinda Cordova of Longmont, CO; Son David E. husband of Diane Cordova of Swink, CO; Daughter Corinna wife of David Sauer of Salt Lake City, UT; Son Dennis husband of Luisa Cordova of Longmont, CO; Sister Timmie Garcia of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Barbara Montoya of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Kathryn wife of Fred Saiz of Boulder, CO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Sandra (Ron) Burdick, Debbie (Kelly) Sheehan, Alyssa (Travis) Stanley, Brandon Cordova, Dustin Cordova, Kyle (Keri) Cordova, Christopher (Carol) Cordova, Ann Marie Archuleta, Mike Archuleta, Raleana (Raul) Ibarra and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by longtime friend, Vidal Martinez. A Vigil service will be on Wednesday at 6:00 PM with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 11th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:30 -7 PM at the St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
