Jenny Anderson, 78, of Rocky Ford died March 12, 2017 after a short illness. Recitation of the Rosary will be 10 a.m. Saturday with funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation was chosen. Inurnment will be private at later date. There will be no funeral dinner.

Jenny was born April 19, 1939 in San Luis to Emilio and Faustina Martinez. She later moved with her family to Rocky Ford. She attended Rocky Ford schools and was employed at Frozen Foods Inc. for 35 years.

She married James Anderson on April 15, 1972 in Rocky Ford.

Jenny was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and St. Ann's Circle. She also cooked for funerals and was actively involved with the church bazaar.

Jenny was also active with Salvation Army, Rocky Ford Food Bank and the Community Thrift Shop. She was always ready to volunteer where needed. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She prepared delicious Christmas and Easter meals. She also enjoyed embroidery, reading and watching western movies. She was also very passionate and enthusiastic about produce. She loved picking chili, tomatoes, onions an other produce which she cooked and canned with her best friends Mildred and Orlando. She enjoyed family celebrations and being with family and friends.

Jenny is survived by her husband, brother Orlando Martinez, sister Chris (Danny) Chaparro, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She especially enjoyed company of her nephews Matt Chaparro and Phillip Navarro and niece Inez Pequette.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters

Rosary Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 17th at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO
