Walter Leroy Wilson, 89, of Olney Springs, CO, passed away Sunday, July 28th, unexpectedly at his residence.

Walter was born in Olney Springs, CO on April 18, 1930, a son of the late Helen Shara (Halcomb) and Maurice Clifford Wilson.

He was the husband of Emma Maude (Pfeiff) Wilson, they were married on May 28, 1952 in Raton, NM and were married for 67 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.

He worked for The Pueblo Army Depot for 25 years as a truck driver and boiler operator, but his favorite occupation was working as a farmer.

Walter was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, but his biggest challenge was raising 4 boys.

He was a member of The Lions Club, served on the Crowley County School Board and was a member of The Crowley Community Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Emma;

Son Alan (Eva) Wilson, of Greeley, CO;

Son Roger (Gloria) Wilson, of Olney Springs, CO;

Son Billy (Gloria) Wilson, of Olney Springs, CO;

Son Clifford (Myrna) Wilson, of Fowler, CO.

He is also survived by Numerous Grandchildren and Great - Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Jimmy; 1 brother; 4 sisters.

Public Viewing will be held 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Friday, August 2nd at Crowley Community Baptist Church in Crowley, CO. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 2nd at Crowley Community Baptist Church in Crowley, CO.

Interment will be in the Olney Springs Cemetery Olney Springs, CO. Military service by American Legion Post #8.
