Willard James (Jim) Adams, Jr., 99, of Sugar City, CO, passed away Sunday, June 14th, at his daughter's residence.
Willard was born in Wagner, OK on May 26, 1921, a son of the late Nellie and Willard James Adams, Sr.
He was the widower of Josephine Louise (Meyers) Adams, they were married on Sept. 28, 1949 in Littleton, CO and celebrated over 70 years together. She preceded him in death on Jan, 13, 2020.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.
He worked as a mechanical engineer for various companies such as RTD, Safeway and Liguid Gold.
Willard enjoyed woodworking, making bowls, lamps and numerous other things. He was a self taught organ player, a pilot, enjoyed restoring old trucks, painting cars, listening to classical music and was a Ham Operator for over 40 years.
He is survived by: Son Jimmy Adams, of Pensacola, FL; Son Louie Adams, of Idaho; Son Mark Adams, of Sugar City, CO; Daughter Sharon Sultz, of Sugar City, CO; Daughter Charlene Jackson, of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Josephine; son: Bob Adams; 5 brothers and 4 sisters;
There will be a viewing from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday, June 19th at Ford - Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
