Mr. William (Bill) Keck, 87, of Rocky Ford died Monday, March 22nd, 2010 at Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, Pueblo County, CO. William was born in Rocky Ford, CO on June 3, 1922, the son of the late Peter and Maria Christina (Bush) Keck. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School. He was the husband of Elsie Mae (Bender) Keck. They were married on June 23, 1945 in Tacoma, Washington. She survives of the home. Bill went to worked for JcPenny's in 1945 and worked there for 25 years. Then he opened the Classic Department Store in Ft. Collins. He sold that and opened a a store for Howell's Department Store in Longmont, CO. He then went to work for the Longmont Times newspaper, where he was the first 1 million dollar salesperson in 1 year. He later worked for the Economic Development and served as the City Manager for Rocky Ford. He retired from the State Bank in Rocky Ford where he worked in the public relations department. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Rocky Ford, CO 81067. He was very active in Rocky Ford by volunteering for numerous events and once named Citizen of the Year by Rocky Ford Chamber of Commerce. He was a longtime member of the ELKS Lodge #1147 and a 50 year member of the Rocky Ford Lions Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rocky Ford. He enjoyed golfing and the Lions pancake suppers. He is survived by his wife; Elsie of the home He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Funeral Services at First United Methodist Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 25th, with Rev. Olga Hard officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church 301 W. Washington Rocky Ford, CO 81067. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
