William "Bill" George Smith

Mr. William George (Bill) Smith, 99, of Rocky Ford died on Friday, May 20th, 2011 at the Swedish Medical Center, Denver, CO. William was born in Griggs, OK on February 21, 1912, the son of the late David Madison and Anna Maud (Harwood) Smith. He was the widower of Gwendolyn (Carter) Smith. They were married on Dec. 1, 1935 in Rocky Ford. She preceded him in death in 1986. He served in the Army National Guard. He was an owner and mechanic at Bill & Bob's Auto Shop in Rocky Ford, CO. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rocky Ford, CO. He is survived by; Son Ken husband of Geneva Smith; Daughter Ruth wife of Paul Smith; Granddaughter Babette Smith; Grandson Karl husband of Alana Smith; Great-Granddaughter Wendy Smith; He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Garland Harwood (Pat) Smith, David Robert (Bob) Smith and Earl Edward Smith; a sister: Ida Katherine Smith Funeral Services will be at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 25th.
