Zenetta Genevieve Gregory

February 23, 1922 - May 31, 2012

Mrs. Zenetta Genevieve Gregory, 90, of Ordway passed away Thursday, May 31st, 2012 while in the company of family members at her residence. Zenetta was born in Crowley, CO on February 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Fred G. and Maybelle Genevieve (Brush) Young. She graduated from Ordway High School in 1940 as the Valedictorian and from Colorado University with a Bachelor's in Business and then received her Teaching Certificate from Western State College in Gunnison. She was the widow of Edward Gregory. They were married on June 19, 1943 in Miami, FL and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2001. She worked as an Elementary Teacher for 25 years in Ordway, retiring in 1977. She was a lifelong member of Ordway United Methodist Church in Ordway, CO. She was a member of the PEO, UMW, served several years on the Crowley County Heritage Board and was a one time member of the Ordway Toen Library Board. She is survived by: Son Paul Gregory of Kalispell, MT; Son Gordon husband of Ginny Gregory of Hastings, MI; Son Bob husband of Sherry Gregory of Denver, CO; Brother Harold Young of Durango, CO; Grandchildren: David Gregory, Genevieve Gregory Wilcox (children of Gordon and Virginia Gregory); Jackie Gregory Hinkle, Felicia Gregory (children of Bob and Sherry Gregory) Great-Grandchildren: Mandalyn Gregory, Kennedy Gregory (children of David Gregory and Jaime MacLangs); Elijah, Emma, Sam & Kate Wilcox (children of Genny Gregory Wilcox and Jeremy Wilcox). Memorial Service will be at Ordway United Methodist Church, Ordway, CO, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5th, with De Etta Goettel officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Ordway, CO at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5th. Memorials may be made to Ordway United Methodist Church Ordway, CO 81063.
